Introduction

Metropolitan Academy of Finance and Arts was founded in 1995 in Moscow as one of the first private educational institutions in Russia. At the same time our diploma is officially recognized as absolutely analogues with a state educational establishment’s graduate certificate, which is still very important in our country.

The aim and purpose of the educational process in the Academy is to provide all the opportunities for the individual to acquire profound knowledge and develop the necessary personal and professional qualities.

It is characterized by a highly qualified teaching staff and an appropriate level of educational management. It has its own scientific schools, well-established traditions, and a considerable financial and technical basis.

In the course of ten years it has acquired a reputation as one of the leading educational establishments in terms of advanced communication network and teaching technologies.

Organization and Staff

We have almost 14000 students who study at the daytime division, evening division and distant-learning division. Undergraduates, graduates and postgraduate students are taught in accordance with 19 basic educational programs, 19 postgraduate and additional programs, and 12 research programs for obtaining scientific degrees.

In addition to the Moscow section the Academy comprises 11 affiliates in different regions of Russia (Salekhard, Surgut, Ukhta, Ufa, Murmansk, Orsk, Omsk, Vologda, Volgodonsk, Vladimir, Tcherepovets).

The Academy is proud of its staff, including about 150 people, among which there are both established scholars and young researchers. 94 teachers have scientific degrees in psychology, philosophy, linguistics and literature, arts, telecommunications, pedagogic, science, management, computing and information, commerce, politics etc.

Education

We recognize the diverse needs of students by offering and providing five- and six-year curricula in psychology, law, public relations, linguistics and modern languages, intercultural communication, social work, speech-therapy, pre-school pedagogic and psychology, various kinds of design, finance and accounting, management, economic studies, business administration.

At Metropolitan Academy of Finance and Arts we offer a broad range of postgraduate opportunities. Obtaining a scientific degree will provide you with an excellent academic foundation in a specialized subject area. If you wish to extend your knowledge and understanding of a subject beyond undergraduate and graduate level you may consult with our professors how to do a research in the following fields: economics and management, social philosophy, Germanic philology, civil law, business law, family law, international private law, general pedagogic, history of pedagogical science and education, general psychology, psychology of a personality, history of psychology, social psychology, psychology of development, acmeology, political institutions, ethno-political conflictology, national and political processes and technologies, safety in situations of extreme.

We also offer several postgraduate diploma/certificate programs that are either run in conjunction with the mentioned above degrees or stand–alone.

Student Services and Facilities

The demands of studying for any kind of degree make it essential to have access to the best academic and research facilities. Library and Computer Services provide an important means of support for life as a student. The Academy has combined these services into a single organizational unit called Information and Communication Services, and this ensures that the tools of the electronic age are always at your disposal for learning and research; you can explore the Internet and communicate by e-mail. The computers are connected via our local network that enables students of the Moscow section and the Academy affiliates to access classes and academy intranets.

The Library of the Academy, which comprises a big selection of essential works for studying, has rapidly advanced its provisions of information sources in electronic form via the web and has devised quick and easy means of access to full text.

Our physical training center is created and equipped to meet the particular needs of students to keep fit.

International Programs and Cooperation

International programs greatly contribute to the enrichment of the Academy’s education and research. Students and the academic staff members take part in various scientific and learning programs (Fulbright, International Visitors Program, US Embassy English Language Office Programs, City and Guilds Pitman Qualifications, De Montfort University Student Courses, Thames Valley University Courses etc.).

The basics of our policy in this field is to expand the sphere of exchange. Thus, nowadays the Academy is looking forward to establishing contacts with educational institutions all over the world, especially those which could cooperate not only in developing joint research and learning programs but also as partners in recruiting the applicants for full-time and short-time studies on various graduation levels for both sides.
